Federal law requires drivers of commerical motor vehicles (CMVs) to receive regular physical examinations, or DOT (Department of Transportation) physicals. These exams have strict requirements to protect diver safety. They're designed to detect anything that could prevent you from driving safely, and evaluate all aspects of the driver's overall health.

The pre-employment physical exam is customized to the specific responsibilities of the job and only screens for skills that are needed on a regular basis. The intention is to protect you from potentially getting injured on the job.
